People will know we follow Christ by our love ~John 13:35

Let’s do this again!

YES – WE’RE DOING IT AGAIN!

Tuesday 19th May – drop your blessings off between 10 and 10:30am meet Stewi in Nobel School’s parking lot (School Road, Modderfontein)

The Community in need has truly been blessed by the Hillside Methodist Community Church. Brian Hutton your congregation truly came together to support our food drive and we are deeply appreciative for their generosity. The parcels will be packed and distributed to those in dire need.#ThankYouHillside #ThisCommunityCares – Ward 32 Counsellor Bongani Nkomo & project assistant Kimbal Mare’s post on our Facebook page.

WOW – bless you and thank you HillSiders for responding to Brian’s call to join in with the Greenstone & Modderfontein Communities Covid Relief Fund!

As you know there are many charities and relief funds calling for donations to help feed the poorest of the poor. We have heard that the social grants may take as long as the end of May to get to these people. Brian has been in contact with Ward 32 Councillor Bongani Nkomo and project assistant Kimbal Mare who with the Modderfontein and Greenstone community have been reaching out to the poorer communities

HillSide is joining in and we are encouraging those of you who can to help with the following supplies for the next round of food parcels they’ll be distributing:-

(Below is a letter from Ward 32 Councillor Bongani Nkomo and the Edenvale News article)

A community that helps in tough times

These are the items in a parcel:

10kg mielie meal

5kg rice

2.5kg sugar

1kg soya

880g peanut butter

1pkt tea bags

2 tins bake beans

2 tins fish

1bottle sunlight liquid

1bottle all purpose cleaner

1pk of 2 bars sunlight washing soap

1 litre oil

1pk Sanitary Pads

It is okay if you can only manage one /two of these items.

Food drop: Stewi will meet you this Tuesday, the 5th May at Nobel’s entrance between 10 and 10:30am only.

If you are unable to get your donations there at that time perhaps you can get it to another HillSider to bring on your behalf? Or contact Stewi or myself and we’ll make a plan / let you know who may live close to you, etc, etc.

Another option is to make a direct deposit into their relief fund: contact Bongani Nkomo on 073 552-0680 / covid19donationsward32@gmail.com
